Why be an Xcel Mentor?
Xcel Mentor Requirements
NU Colleges and Majors

If you have ever been mentored, you should already know the benefits of mentoring. Mentoring is about creating relationships with different people and encouraging growth. Many of us who have been mentored may not have know that we were in fact being mentored.  But, if you have ever been provided an "aha" experience, a memorable quote or help in uncovering an ability or talent by someone else, then you have been mentored.

There is a common misconception that mentoring requires a lot of time and that a busy schedule prohibits you from making a difference in someone else's life.  As a Xcel Mentor you will be required to keep in contact with your mentee at least, once in person per month and once every two weeks via e-mentoring.  As an Xcel mentor, you will be working with many different professionals and mentor Xcel members who are leaders in their respective academic and professional objectives.  The potential network that you can build with your professional co-mentors and the relationships that you will develop with Xcel members as well as the many things that can be learned while being an Xcel mentor are endless.
